Saqr Mashhor Ereiqat is the Secretary General of the Dubai Digital Asset Association. He developed the first blockchain strategy for the government in Dubai. Saqr has brought over 600 companies to Dubai with his company. He is driving the growth of the digital asset ecosystem. With over 20 years of experience in technology and innovation, he has a proven track record in blockchain, fintech, and govtech in the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.
Saqr is the co-founder of several initiatives, including:
- Arte.community: Bridging the gap between art, technology, and blockchain.
- The Green Block: Promoting blockchain for sustainability.
- Crypto Oasis Ventures: Promoting the adoption of Web3 in the Middle East.
- Riddermark: A boutique consulting firm that scales fintech, healthtech, and govtech solutions.
During his 13 years at IBM, Saqr led public sector blockchain projects in 23 countries, helped define the Dubai government's blockchain strategy, and worked with clients such as DHL, Shell, Airtel, and the Office of the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates. He also founded the National Health Lab for Emerging Technology for the Saudi government to drive innovation in healthcare.
Most recently, Saqr contributed to Pakistan's Digital Nation Agenda and is a member of the advisory board of the Global Innovation Institute.
He mentors startups through the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), the Arab Youth Center, and the Founder Institute, and supports blockchain innovation as a blockchain expert for the Blockchain Founders Fund.
